| Director's Message

Welcome to KIS 2023-2024! We are excited to see our Kozaks – new and old – on campus next week.

Elementary and Preschool

We hope you have the opportunity to join us for the Open House on Wednesday. On the first day of school, students will meet their teacher in the playground. They will see a sign with their age level and there will be plenty of people to help! (In case of rain, this will be in the lobby). On the first day, you will pick up your child at 4 PM in the same place.

Please look for a welcome letter next week from the classroom teacher regarding specific classroom information (supplies, etc.) Throughout the school year, communication will be through Seesaw: Seesaw for Families | Seesaw . Teachers will send information, including the QR code to families so they can join.

Middle School

Students will need a laptop every day. Their schedules will be available on the family Moodle account on Wednesday, August 23rd. The first few days of school will be team building and community building activities.

First Day: Students will find their Middle School classroom on the 2nd floor of the main building. They will see the room number on their schedule. There will also be teachers available to help them find this classroom. Students can be picked up in the lobby or playground at 4 PM.

Secondary

Students will need a laptop every day. They will receive their schedules on the family Moodle account on Wednesday, August 23rd. If there are changes that need to be made, students will request these changes using a MS Form which will be shared with them. Students will find their classrooms on the 3rd and 4th floor.

Technology and Microsoft 365
New students should have received a login for their Microsoft 365 account. If they did not, or are having any issues please contact: techhelp@kyiv.qsi.org

Our IT department will also be available in the lobby during the Open House on August 23rd.

Languages other than English (LOE) 
KIS is proud to have a vibrant and highly experienced LOE department.  We offer French, German, Ukrainian and Russian.  Many of our students will be enrolled in LOE classes this year and students from 8-year-old to Secondary IV have a choice as to the language they will learn.  Please see this form to choose a language:  https://forms.office.com/e/pSSW9CgehP

5-year-old students will enjoy a fun course of World Languages and 6–7-year-old students will study Ukrainian. 

Students without English proficiency will have Intensive English instead of LOE.

Cafeteria Debit Card: Each student will receive a cafeteria debit card, which can be easily used to purchase snacks or drinks at the snack bar. No need to worry about carrying cash – simply swipe your card and enjoy your meal!

Easy Card Recharge: To add funds to your cafeteria card, you can use the recharge machine located in the school lobby or the cafeteria. It's a convenient way to keep your card topped up and ready for those tasty meals and treats.

Meal Plans for Every Appetite: We offer exclusive meal plans available through monthly or yearly subscriptions. Daily purchases are not available, so make sure to subscribe for the plan that suits you best.

Subscription Details: For monthly plan subscribers, we kindly request that you complete your payment by the 25th of the PREVIOUS month to ensure uninterrupted service. Payments are processed in Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) and should be made via bank transfer.

Customized Dietary Needs: If your child has specific dietary requirements, our cafeteria manager is here to help. Coordinate dietary needs with our manager for a personalized diet card that ensures your child's meal preferences are taken care of.

Diet-Lunch Program: For students in the Diet-Lunch program, presenting the diet card daily is mandatory to receive lunch. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth process.

Making Changes to Meal Plans: If you need to make changes to your child's meal plan, you can do so from the start of the upcoming month. Simply send a text message to +380503117187 or email admin@sunnyside.com.ua to initiate changes.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we gear up for another enriching academic year at Kyiv International School, we're excited to share some important information regarding our school transportation services. We understand that safe and efficient transportation is a key factor in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable school experience for both students and parents.

Transportation Coverage
Our school bus services will be available exclusively within Kyiv city, focusing on the right bank area. 

How to Request School Bus Service
 If you are interested in utilizing our school bus services, please send an email to businessoffice@kyiv.qsi.org. Additionally, CC the email to transportation@kyiv.qsi.org. In your email, provide the following essential information:

  • Name and age of your child(-ren)
  • Accurate morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off addresses

Arrangement Process
Upon receiving your transportation request, our team will promptly begin working on the necessary arrangements. We understand the importance of a reliable transportation schedule and will strive to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability.

Confirmation Email
Once the bus schedule for your child is finalized, you will receive an email containing all pertinent details:

  • Bus model and plate number
  • Contact information for the driver and bus monitor

Important Note: We kindly ask you to familiarize yourselves with the school bus rules and the safety procedures and protocols.

| Term 1 Due Date and Educational Contracts Submission

 

1. Term 1 Payment Due Date: August 25th, 2023
We kindly remind you that the due date for Term 1 tuition fees is rapidly approaching. The payment must be submitted by August 25th, 2023. We understand the significance of timely payments in facilitating a seamless learning experience for your child, and we greatly appreciate your cooperation in meeting this deadline.

2. Submission of Educational Contracts for 2023-2024
Additionally, we would like to bring to your attention the requirement to submit the completed Educational Contracts for the 2023-2024 academic year. These contracts must be received by the Business Office no later than August 25th, 2023. Please ensure that all necessary information is accurately filled out and that any required signatures are obtained before submission.
