Kozak Korner #01. August 16th, 2024

| Director's Message

Dear Families!

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back on campus! Please join us on AUGUST 21st from 2-4 pm for our Open House. This is important for new families, but everyone is welcome to come and meet old friends and new ones.

Thursday, August 22nd is our first day of school. It will be a half-day from 8:30 to 11:45 am. It is important that everyone attends. Friday, August 23rd will be a regular school day.

Schedules: Schedules for Middle School and Secondary students will be available on your Family Moodle on Wednesday, August 21st. Your secondary student will have the opportunity to make schedule changes after the first full day of school.

Mixed Classes: QSI has a written curriculum that allows us to mix age groups in classes.

There are many benefits to mixing age groups in a smaller school like Kyiv International School. The most important benefits are that the students are exposed to a wider variety of opinions and ideas over the course of the day and have an opportunity to interact, work with and befriend a broader group of peers. Ages twelve and thirteen will be combined and Secondary I and II will be combined.

First Day of School: Your child should wear comfortable, appropriate school clothing and sports shoes. They should bring a water bottle. The first day will be a day of meeting new people, learning about the year ahead and team building activities.

Student emails: If your child is new to KIS and is in Middle School or Secondary, their student email login will be available by Wednesday, August 21st on Open Apply. It is important that they login!

Best regards,
Rachel Geary
