Welcome Back, KIS Community!

As we open the doors for another year at Kyiv International School, I wanted to share my excitement to be rejoining this school community.

To our returning families and staff,  welcome back! To those joining KIS for the first time, we hope you will find KIS a second home! Whatever the road that brought you here, you are now a part of a school community that shows up for each other, learns together, and refuses to let uncertainty define what is possible for our students.

We carry forward the same spirit that has always defined KIS and being a Kozak: curiosity, care, and courage and a commitment to striving towards excellence.

As we begin the new school year, there are many important details to review and understand. Please take a moment to read these newsletters carefully and stay informed concerning important procedures, upcoming events, and ways to be involved with the school.

Thank you for trusting us with your children, being a part of our school community, and working with us to help ALL of our students be successful.

I am honored to lead this school alongside you and can't wait to see what we build together this year.

Welcome back, KIS!

| Welcome Message From The PTO President

Dear KIS Families,

Welcome back to a new school year at Kyiv International School! And a very warm welcome to all the new families joining our KIS community. We are so happy to have you with us!

As the PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization), we are here to bring parents, teachers, and our school community closer together, and to make school life a little more fun, connected, and memorable for our children.

We have lots of exciting things planned for the year ahead: community events, fun activities, celebrations, and a few surprises along the way. We hope these events will give families a chance to meet each other, spend time together, and create some wonderful KIS memories.

Our PTO Shop will also be running throughout the year. By supporting the shop, you are directly helping us raise funds for PTO events, activities, and special gifts and surprises for our students and school community. Every purchase makes a difference!

And, of course, PTO is for everyone. You don’t need to have lots of free time or any special experience to get involved. Whether you can help at an event, share an idea, volunteer for an hour, or simply join us for a school activity - every bit of involvement is valuable and very welcome.

So, if you are a new parent, come and say hello! If you’ve been part of KIS for years, we know you’ll join us again. And if you’ve never been involved with PTO before, this is a perfect time to jump in.

Looking forward to a wonderful year together, filled with connection, laughter, and lots of great moments for our KIS community!

See you around school!

Warm regards,

Yuliya Angel
PTO President

Morning Arrival Safety Protocol During Air Alerts

The safety of our entire KIS community is our highest priority. Following overnight or early-morning missile or drone attacks, some staff members may be delayed in reaching campus, which means the school may be temporarily understaffed during morning arrival.

To ensure the safety of every student, please follow the protocol below.

If there is an air raid alert when you arrive at school:

  • Parents must take their child directly to the basement shelter.
  • Please do not leave your child at the Preschool or wait for a teacher to arrive. KIS staff will be in the shelter, where students will be received and supervised.
  • If you arrive after an alert has ended and there is no teacher or staff member in the classroom, please take your child directly to the shelter.

There may be a short delay before all staff members are able to safely return to their usual locations on campus.
