| Director's Message

Dear parents,

I would like to thank all families and teachers for their unwavering support for the school and the learning that happens every single day.

A few points to note this week:

Middle School classes homeroom teachers. We have decided to implement a system of homeroom teachers for 11, 12 and 13 year old classes. The following members of staff are now the ones that you should contact with any queries, comments or concerns about your Middle School child:

The Regional Supervisor for QSI Northern Europe schools, Mr. Luke Woodruff will be visiting KIS late next week and early the week after.

Last evening Ms. Chelsey Zoromski, Mr. James Boldosser and I had the pleasure of representing KIS at a reception held at the Hyatt Regency hotel to celebrate the 215th anniversary of the independence of Mexico. We had the opportunity to meet other members of the international community at this joyful event.

Have a safe and restful weekend. Next week I will share some information about some upcoming parent workshops.

Kind regards,

Susan Tilney

First PTO Meeting of the Year: A Great Start

This Wednesday, the KIS Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) gathered for its very first meeting of the school year – and what a wonderful start it was! Both new and returning members were warmly welcomed, creating an atmosphere full of positive energy, fresh ideas, and community spirit.

Over coffee and a selection of delicious cakes (thank you to Yuliya Angel - the PTO President), the group came together to share updates and begin planning another exciting year of events. The PTO plays a vital role in supporting our school, not only by sponsoring initiatives but also by organising some of the most loved community gatherings at KIS. From the Back-to-School Picnic and Wine & Cheese Evening to Bingo Night and many other memorable occasions, PTO events bring families, staff, and students closer together.

And the fun is just getting started! The team is already preparing for the Back-to-School Picnic, one of the highlights of the KIS calendar, where families can enjoy great food, fun activities, and plenty of time together.

A big thank you to our PTO members for their continued dedication and enthusiasm. We look forward to another fantastic year filled with community, celebration, and KIS spirit!

| "Empower" Program

The Empower curriculum integrates the Success Orientations, Social Emotional Learning concepts, and Child Protection principles into individual lessons throughout the year. These lessons will be delivered during a dedicated weekly EMPOWER class time. This approach aims to equip students with a comprehensive set of skills applicable throughout their lives. Specific lessons tailored to each grade level ensure developmental appropriateness. While some concepts may be revisited annually, the lessons will vary based on the students' age. For more information, please see the QSI Empower statement.

Teachers will keep parents informed about the upcoming lessons for their child, and for certain grades, the lesson plans will be accessible in this newsletter. Click on the post below to view the message from the teacher.
