| Director's Message

Dear parents,

I am pleased to let you know that Ms. Zoromski has reported some good news from the CEESA Athletic Directors' conference that she is currently attending in Helsinki. KIS has the go-ahead from CEESA to consider registering to attend several overseas events. Mr. Prima is now exploring possibilities and details, further information will follow just as soon as possible.

StuCo's first event takes place this evening, there has been great interest and "Clash of Classes" looks all set to be lots of fun!

Plans are coming together well for the PTO Return to School Picnic on 27th September, lots of activities, a bouncy castle, yummy food and maybe a surprise as well. See you all there.

Mr. Luke Woodruff has been warmly welcomed to KIS this week.

Mr. Woodruff knows the school, Kyiv and Ukraine well and many of you know Mr. Woodruff from his time as a former Director of the school as well as from previous visits to KIS. It is valuable to have his insights and reflections.

The first of a series of parent workshops will be in early October and the focus will be Languages Other Than English.

Kind regards and stay safe,

Susan Tilney

PTOPICNIC (PDF)

Students and families,

As the upcoming PTO Picnic on September 27th approaches, we are excited to introduce a special table where you can join our “potluck of kindness” by gathering any garments and supplies for dogs at the Sirius Pet Shelter. From leashes and blankets to food and toys — every item makes a difference!!!

This contribution will expand our ongoing project of sorting food for the shelter and will strengthen the spirit of our school community. Together, we can make an even bigger contribution!

Sincerely,

Mariia S.

| "Empower" Program

The Empower curriculum integrates the Success Orientations, Social Emotional Learning concepts, and Child Protection principles into individual lessons throughout the year. These lessons will be delivered during a dedicated weekly EMPOWER class time. This approach aims to equip students with a comprehensive set of skills applicable throughout their lives. Specific lessons tailored to each grade level ensure developmental appropriateness. While some concepts may be revisited annually, the lessons will vary based on the students' age. For more information, please see the QSI Empower statement.

Teachers will keep parents informed about the upcoming lessons for their child, and for certain grades, the lesson plans will be accessible in this newsletter. Click on the post below to view the message from the teacher.
