The 21st Century learner is growing up in a world surrounded by technology.  Our goal is to optimize technology tools for instruction and offer a variety of options that your child and their teacher may use.

Please look at the list of Educational Websites KIS will use below (note, not all websites will be used by your child – grade level is indicated next to each): https://kyiv.qsi.org/learning/kis-website-list-2022-23

We will use these platforms to offer instruction in core academics and digital citizenship and give strategies that may assist your child in safely using the internet.  In some cases, to create the logins for some Educational Websites, teachers need to use data regarding the students (Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, E-mail, etc.).  
Therefore, we request your permission to allow teachers to use these educational websites with your child.

If you have any questions about a particular website, please don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher.

As you are aware, there are many events and activities for the KIS students to get involved in. Kyiv International School uses photos of students on the school website, on the newsletter and social media. This allows us to highlight and share with the community all the colours of the school life and celebrate the achievements of our students. In this digital age, many members of our school community use social media to stay connected with what is happening in school and, for those who don’t use social media, the website is an important communication tool which showcases what we do.

To that end, we request that you carefully read the Privacy Notice & Consent form and provide your explicit consent for the use and processing of your child's data.   

Your consent may be withdrawn at any time by sending written notice indicating your withdrawal of consent to the school email kyiv@qsi.org or kozakconnect@qsi.org, without affecting the legality of any data processing having taken place before such withdrawal.

Seesaw for PreK and Elementary (6 - 9 y.o.'s)

The Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. It allows students to learn and engage in creative educational activities while giving teachers and parents insight to each students progress and thinking. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families. Nothing is shared without teacher approval.

Seesaw is the main form of communication with parents at Preschool and Elementary.  The teacher can message parents individually or as a group. This is the best way for parents to message the teacher, especially during the day.  

When there are new posts or messages, parents will be notified and can see what's new! 

Seesaw is private. Parents only see posts created by their child. Learn more about Seesaw's commitment to privacy at web.seesaw.me/privacy. 

How to join Seesaw:

1. Download 'Seesaw Family' from the App Store or Google Play Store. Don’t have a smartphone? Sign up on a computer at app.seesaw.me.

2. Tap 'Create Family Account' and scan the QR code on the handout that the teacher passed out. Make sure it says your child's name at the top.  

3. Create your account to see your child's journal! Make sure to allow notifications to get real-time updates about new posts.

In Elementary (10 y.o.'s), Middle School and Secondary at KIS we are uniformly using Microsoft Teams (part of Microsoft 365) for much of our communication and curriculum delivery. The Microsoft suite of programs and apps links with you child's account and should offer a streamlined angle to academic productivity, and hopefully you and your child will find most of what you need within it. As such, you should be able to:

1. find curriculum, lessons, and assignments
2. submit work and check grades
3. communicate/collaborate with teachers
4. communicate/collaborate with students
5. join online classes
