Kozak Korner #19. January 17th, 2025

| Director's Message

Dear Parents,

I hope this email finds you well. I believe many students found this week a bit challenging – they were excited to come back to school on January 7th, but this week perhaps they remember vacation – without the academics, school routine and expectations. I have been working with teachers to remind students about what we expect at KIS: English and adherence to the Success Orientations! Please help us by reinforcing the importance of these at home.

Next Friday, we have student advocacy conferences in the morning. These are opportunities for students to give feedback to their teachers about various aspects of the classroom – the instruction, the assessment, the feedback, the interpersonal relationships and the class dynamics. These will take place during the first 3 periods of the day. Learning to advocate for what you need and speak for yourself are essential life skills.

Recognizing how you learn best and communicating this to teachers ensures that your education will be meaningful. These advocacy sessions are supported and scaffolded by our staff. If you would like to know more about these, please attend the coffee chats during the last week of January, or schedule a meeting with me!

Don’t forget International Night!

You can always contact us by calling +38 044 452 2792.

Best regards,
Rachel Geary

Support Our Wounded Heroes! 🇺🇦

A donation container is available near the reception, and we warmly invite our community to take part in this meaningful initiative.

💙 They gave their all. Let's give something of ours. 💛

Book Club For Adults

KIS has started a book club for adults, and you are invited to join!

Here are the plans:

  1. Read one book per month and be ready to discuss it in English.
  2. Each month one person in the club chooses three titles and we will vote for which one we want to read. We will have one month to read the chosen title before our next meeting.
  3. That book host/hostess of the month will also choose the restaurant or cafe where we will meet to discuss the book and enjoy each other’s company.
