Welcoming in the 2021-22 School Year

Director's Message

Dear KIS Families,

The 2021-22 school year is almost here! We hope that you are enjoying some much needed time away from the school with your friends and family. We also hope that everyone is safe and well wherever they might be. It has been nice to hear the many stories of people traveling again, as well as return home for the first time in a long time.

New Staff and All Staff Orientation and Training
Our new staff members have almost all arrived in Kyiv and we are looking forward to them joining the Kozak Nation! Returning staff are also trickling back onto the campus and setting things up. The next two weeks, we will have teacher professional development to prepare for the new school year.

All Students Back on Campus
The first day of school is rapidly approaching, and we are looking forward to having ALL students back on campus each day! I am sure, similar to last year, that many families are also wondering what this year will be like. You will find in this first newsletter edition a reminder of the guidelines. Similar to last year, we will be updating these guidelines as we go throughout the school year and communicate any changes with families.

New Families
We also look forward to welcoming many new students and families to our community. Most of our classes have filled up to capacity this year.  We will be inviting new families to do small tours of the campus this next week, in order for them to better understand the school, our program, and feel comfortable and ready for the first days of school. We will send out separate messages to our new families.

In the next couple of weeks, you will be getting separate information from each divisional concerning some of the specific details in order to kick off this school year.

We look forward to seeing you soon!!!

Luke Woodruff, Director
Kyiv International School
