Kozak Korner #31. April 30th, 2026

| Director's Message

Dear Parents,

This week I would like to honour the work of the Kyiv International School Advisory Board: Nick Kostiuchenko, Ievgenii Mysin, Tamari Toliashvily, Serhii Verbytskyi and Mark Wright. The team meets periodically throughout the school year for discussions about ongoing matters, celebrations, challenges and plans. A recent focus has been to advise about KIS scholarships; the school makes a limited number of scholarships available annually. Following an invitation to apply or re-apply for a scholarship the team carefully considers each application on an individual basis and within certain parameters.

By now you should have received Quintile 4 Status Reports, which were sent to you on 29th April. If you did not receive the report or have any queries please let us know.

MAP testing is now under way for students from 5 year olds and will continue for the next couple of weeks.

Upcoming events, as a reminder: May 5th will be "Baha Yaha"; no school due to a public holiday on 8th; CEESA Middle School and High School Volleyball trips to Riga, Vilnius and Krakow; Talent Show on 13th; Student Led Conferences on 15th and International Night on 23rd.

Please note that the deadline for re-enrollment for the 2026-27 academic year is May 1st. If you haven't already done so, please complete the re-enrollment form. If you have any difficulties or queries please contact Admissions. We know that sometimes families move on, although we sincerely hope you will stay with us. If you know that you do not plan to return to KIS in August we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

Thank you.

Have a good long weekend, remember no school on 1st May and stay safe. Looking forward to the warmer and more Spring-like weather conditions that are forecast from next week.

Very kindest regards,

Susan Tilney

| AP Exams

Kindly note that some exams will begin at 8:30 AM sharp, while others will start at 12:30 PM sharp, as listed above. Students should arrive at school at least 10-15 minutes before their scheduled test, fully prepared.

Students should bring their testing device, №2 pencil or blue-ink pen and be ready to:

  • Sign in to Bluebook with their College Board account.

  • Read most instructions on their device - students will only hear a few instructions from their proctor before they start testing.

Try a Test Preview in Bluebook

We encourage students to try a test preview in the Bluebook testing app.

Please take a moment to watch the following videos, which provide detailed insights into what you can expect when taking the:
