With these precautions in place, we are confident that we can deliver an enjoyable and safe event for all participants, providing a range of the latest titles and bestsellers from the UK for children, teenagers, and adults.

Play Ball!

In PE and after school, the Kozak Nation has gone softball crazy.  Students of all ages have been learning the rules, practicing their batting and catching, and playing games.

Secondary students and staff have been playing friendly, but competitive, games after school on Mondays and Tuesdays.   We are looking forward to a few more weeks of softball at KIS.

Learning Stories

4ND Preschool!

We have been really busy learning about insects, how things grow, working on new vocabulary and enjoying drawing and getting better at painting with watercolors and using all kinds of tools to express thinking and ideas on paper. Grasping pencils, oil pastels and brushes develops little muscles, creates a fun and collaborative environment and develops confidence. My students compare their work and occasionally add details to each other’s work. I have several students that love to paint and to make things out of paper, expressing themselves and being happy with the results.

Story books are always part of our daily activities, and the students love to discuss and perform their stories. I know my students are delighted to be socializing with each other in our classroom every day. Learning social skills and solving problems are also a big part of community in our classroom. During these upcoming weeks, we will be finishing our last units and preparing for the next school year. Ms. Sasha and I are very happy to have the opportunity to have had the time to interact in person with our little ones. To see their smiles every day through their lovely eyes is a great reward. Masks are not an impediment for expressions at all. My students are great communicators of joy, great ideas and lots of giggles. I love my class!

Enjoy the pictures!

Educator Profile

Ms. Sarah Lopert

"Get a boat and paddle".

This philosophy of student engagement in the classroom has been a common thread throughout Ms. Lopert's teaching career which includes schools in Portland, Oregon, QSI Haiphong, and now here at Kyiv International School.

Drop into one of her classes and you will see a Growth Mindset, learning environment where learners are invested in working collaboratively; learners who are risk takers and not afraid to make mistakes; and learners who feel comfortable enough to laugh at themselves.

2021-2022 School Year

As we look to the 2021-22 school year, KIS is planning to bring ALL STUDENTS back to the school campus and shift our school schedule to reflect previous years.

There are a number of things to consider when doing this and we want to make sure that everyone understands some of the considerations made by the school to make sure we can do this as safely as possible.

KIS Cares

In response to the recent health crisis from the global pandemic, our KIS community raised and donated 53,310 UAH to GiveIndia in support of critical patients and healthcare workers in India.

This fundraising event was led by KIS secondary student Sagnika Nayak with the assistance of the following student service-leaders: Omkar Nayak, Sia Bhagat, Sofiia Limakova, Vik Hume, Saakshi Gummaraju, Aditya Deshmukh, Alisa Pimenova, Dia Aganova, Anzhelika Golubyeva and Yegor Rubanov.

Members of the Kyiv International School campus community have a long history of providing opportunities for service to our campus community.  Including student, staff, and PTO driven initiatives - we hold annual clothes and book drives; raise money for charities; volunteer at nonprofits; etc.

As a school, we are committed to supporting, coordinating, and maximizing the good work being done by our community.

If you are currently part of a school centered service project (meaning you hold fundraisers or collect donated items at the school) or if you would like to be involved with the KIS Cares group - we ask that you complete the following survey:
