Kozak Korner #38. June 5, 2021

Director's Message

Dear KIS Families,

This weekend, we celebrated the graduating class of 2021. The weather cooperated with us, and we held the graduation ceremony outside on the field. It was a beautiful ceremony with some very nice speeches from students and staff. We are extremely grateful that we were able to hold this event at the school and recognize all the work and effort that has gone into a challenging year for our seniors.

We wish them the best, as the embark on new adventures around the world. We expect great things from these students. Congratulations to the class of 2021!!!

If you missed the ceremony, you can still watch it on our YouTube channel.   Later this week, we will publish a special Graduation 2021 issue of the Kozak Korner.

We are getting closer to winding down the school year. Elementary concerts are coming up, as well as Art Appreciation week. Take a look to see what is going on, as we finish up this school year!

Sincerely,

Luke Woodruff
Director
Kyiv International School

Book Fair

One step ahead: become an excellent online English teacher

Dear partners and friends,

We here at Dinternal Education have some great news for you – our yearly Book Fair is coming soon!

Despite the pandemic this year, we feel that we ought to continue with our prevalent literary tradition. However, new challenges mean new solutions so, welcome an absolutely new Book Fair Outdoors Format! We put a lot of time and effort into keeping your spirit high during the summer holidays. We really hope you will enjoy it.

Please be sure that we here at Dinternal respect all safety precautions. This would, of course, involve all Dinternal staff observing social distancing rules and utilizing the appropriate safety practices (e.g., the use of hand sanitizer and PPE). In addition to this, to add a further assurance of safety, our staff would provide the results of a recent Covid test before entering the premises.

With these precautions in place, we are confident that we can deliver an enjoyable and safe event for all participants, providing a range of the latest titles and bestsellers from the UK for children, teenagers, and adults.

9B students have really enjoyed our unit on Reader's Theater. The students worked in groups to write their own script and then record it. We would like to share some with you this week and next. We hope you enjoy them.

2021 - 2022 School Year

As we look to the 2021-22 school year, KIS is planning to bring ALL STUDENTS back to the school campus and shift our school schedule to reflect previous years.

There are a number of things to consider when doing this and we want to make sure that everyone understands some of the considerations made by the school to make sure we can do this as safely as possible.
