Director's Message

Dear KIS community,

It is hard to believe we are already here at the end of the 2020-21 school year. I remember the trepidation as we took our first steps in August to bring students back to campus. No one really knew what this year would be like and it is safe to say that everyone was quite nervous. We prepared the best we could to have as many students on campus for as long as we could.

This year has been a reminder of how important face-to-face school is for everyone. I believe the school experience is so much more vibrant when students and teachers are here together. Student activities and school-wide events help build community, climate, and culture within these walls. We look forward to next year and taking steps towards having more of this.

We have spent the past day preparing the school for summer and staff have packed up resources and tidied rooms so we can do some work during July and August. We also recognized and said goodbye to those staff members who will be leaving KIS this year.

I would like to thank everyone for their support throughout this year. I know it has not always been easy. Even during a normal year, there are bumps along the way, but I would like to congratulate everyone on a successful 2020-21 school year! In August, we will be welcoming some new teachers, students, and families to our KIS community.

We wish you health, safety, rest, and wellness over the summer break!

Sincerely,

Luke Woodruff
